NO INCOME TAXES!

WA State spending has outpaced population growth and inflation by 50% since 2019. We have a spending problem in this state. To fund that, the legislature has added $18 billion in new taxes since then. Now is not the time to add an unConstitutional income tax.

Currently, Skagit County ranks 30 out of the 39 counties in WA state with an effective rate of .82% or $4008 property taxes annually. San Juan County ranks 1 out of the 39 counties in WA State with an effective rate of .57% or $4131 annually. Whatcom county ranks 13 with an effective rate of .71% or $3819 in property taxes annually. All of these rates are above the national average of $2680 annual property tax rate. TaxByCounty

Republicans offered amendments to the income tax bill that would have made the million dollar deduction permanent. The Democrats voted that down. Republicans offered amendments to make it not affect public employee pensions. Democrats voted that down. Republicans offered amendments to get rid of the double taxation (if income is taxed in another state), marriage penalty (two married people or one single person can earn up to $1 million without taxation), and deductions for charitable giving were all voted down by Democrats.

Voters in WA state declined an income tax 10 times in the last 92 years. It has been found un-Constitutional by the WA Supreme Court in 1932. Voters in WA state supported the No Income Tax initiative in 2024 by 80% across all demographics. My opponent voted to make that initiative law in 2024, then repealed it in 2026 with SB 6346

If this income tax that was voted for by my opponent is put into play in 2028 as is written and passed, Seattle will be the highest taxed city in the nation and WA state will be in the top 10 taxed states in the nation.

WA state is overtaxed.

We can do better!
